Promoting well-being through amateur sport, fostering community spirit, and providing financial support for charitable purposes across Aberfan and the Merthyr Valley.
Our Origin
The Aberfan Disaster Fund and Centre stands as a testament to the strength and unity of our village. Born from the tragic events of October 1966, our purpose has evolved to ensure that the memory of those we lost is honored through the vibrant life of the living community.
Today, we focus on the enhancement of well-being for the inhabitants of Aberfan, primarily through the promotion of amateur sports and providing facilities for recreation and leisure. Managed by the Merthyr Tydfil Leisure Trust, we work tirelessly to benefit the general public throughout Wales.
